9. Our History & Staff - Proko Funeral Home

  • Proko Funeral Home was the first to install a crematory in Kenosha County, and remains one of the few funeral homes in the county with a crematory on premise.

  • In 1928, James Crossin built the first facility in Kenosha dedicated exclusively to providing funeral services. It was located downtown at the corner of 60th Street and 12th Avenue. At the time, other funeral homes were converted residences or businesses. This historic "first" symbolizes our leadership in the community - a tradition that is carried on today by the Proko Family.
